Saya Des Marais, MSW

Saya Des Marais is a Masters-level social worker, mental health trainer, and content writer. As a mental health clinician and social worker, she’s worked with children, youth, and families in a number of settings including public schools, community clinics, and group homes. She’s a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and has created and delivered dozens of trainings on how to use Motivational Interviewing to promote positive behavior change.

As a content writer, she specializes in making dense psychological research easily accessible to everyone, especially those who are experiencing mental illness. Saya is passionate about cultural humility, intersectionality, and racial and immigration trauma, and she has created curricula and content to address these issues.
