Finding Your Purpose has very little to do with shoulds, obligations, and expectations, and everything to do with your heartfelt feelings about what you choose to do with your life. And that affects the world and everyone in it! It’s your life and it’s your purpose, so only you can LIVE IT.
I’ll start by talking about Purpose and my story – how sometimes you find your purpose and sometimes your purpose finds you. We’ll talk about the traditions and paths that get many of us started in our lives and careers, the reasons to find and honor our purpose, why it seems elusive, why it can be challenging to trust it, what it can lead to, how it changes everything, and what the human connection has to do with it all. It is after all, about what can happen when we share our purpose with each other.
Because I found my purpose in “pajamas,” I like to use the acronym PAJAMAS and corresponding graphics for each topic as a thread in my presentation. So, for Finding Your Purpose:
Possibilities (simple exercise to start you on the road to finding your purpose)
Appraise & Ask (evaluate your current situation and ask a lot of questions)
Jump (is this a Jump or a slide for you?)
Action (the items you’ll have to think about to move forward)
Making your decision (what this entails)
Arriving (how to believe in yourself and make your plan)
Steer (how to stay focused)
